Embracing modern living with historic rural aesthetic.

Originally the proverbial blank canvas of a lawn and a bit of paving, our clients understandably wanted more from their idyllically located rural getaway. They asked for a design that incorporated the style of the dwelling and the feel of the local area, yet allowed for multiple seating areas and the ability to entertain guests in various settings.

We created a design based around 3 distinct activity areas, and a select palette of clay pavers, to harmonise with the Cheshire brick barn walls, oak timber and a soft grey sandstone.

The Bistro area is perfect for catching up with friends, while the Alfresco cooking area with the Green Egg setup provides a space for outdoor cooking and grilling.

The lounge area, with its clay paver rug, offers a cosy spot to relax and unwind. The focal point of the garden is the feature pergola made of Green Oak, which not only adds a touch of rustic charm but also provides a framed walkway towards a striking water feature.

All the borders of the garden are filled with a combination of herbaceous plants, shrubs, and pleached hornbeam screens. This creates a lush and vibrant backdrop, while also ensuring privacy and seclusion.

The planting palette is kept simple and elegant, with a focus on pure white flowers and different shades of green foliage. This combination creates a serene and calming atmosphere, evoking a sense of tranquillity in the garden.

Overall, the garden is designed to maximise the use of the available space, allowing for various activities and creating an inviting and peaceful ambiance.

Timeless elegance and tranquillity.
